Rishikesh, the 'place of sages' is a city in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Rishikesh, literally: "Hair (kesh) of the sage" (rishi), is a holy city for Hindus located in the foothills of the Himalaya in northern India. Legend states that Lord Rama did penance here for killing Rava.a, the demon king of Lanka. It is believed that when Raibhya Rishi did hard penances, God appeared by the name of " Hrishikesh " and this area henceforth came

to be known as Rishikesh. It is also known as the gateway to the Himalayas and is located about 25 kilometers away from another holy city, Haridwar. Rishikesh is the starting point for traveling to the sites that form the Char Dham pilgrimage — Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Rishikesh translates to mean He who has conquered his senses.

Day 02              Ananda – in the Himalayas
Early morning attend the Yoga session at the resort. Rest of the day at leisure to avail the spa facilities of the resort
(on direct payment).

This early morning you enjoy a trek to the Kunjapuri temple. You could do a trek from the resort to the temple upwards which takes about 2 ½ hrs. Alternatively, you could take a car and drive up to the temple which takes about 30 minutes and trek down (trekking down puts pressure on knee joints –therefore, please consult your physician before choosing your option). The other option is that you drive up and down and just walk up the 100 steps of the stairs to reach the temple top from where you can enjoy nice views of the Himalayan range of mountains.
Day at leisure for independent activities

Optionally, can do a rafting expedition. We can arrange a nice rafting expedition with vegetarian lunch at one of the beaches.

After breakfast drive to Delhi international airport to board flight onward destination.
